Set a store to retail and it behaves like a focused shop till — catalog, checkout, payments, inventory — with restaurant-only features like the floor plan, kitchen display, reservations and table management hidden from the interface entirely rather than just greyed out.
Set it to restaurant and the full front- and back-of-house workflow is available. Because this is a setting rather than a different product, switching a store's type — or running a mixed multi-branch account with both kinds of location — doesn't require a migration or a new subscription elsewhere.
